Our Flax Crackers come to life when we soak raw golden flax seeds in water to begin the sprouting or germination process. This increases the bioavailability of the important nutrients and makes them easier to digest. We then dehydrate our crackers for at least 24hrs at a very low temperature. This delicate process preserves all the vitamins, minerals and natural enzymes. Moreover, your crackers are free from preservatives or chemicals.
Flaxseeds are rich fiber and omega-3 fatty acids. They contain a group of nutrients called lignans which are powerful antioxidants. The food we eat can improve our gut microbiota. The more diverse microbiota we have, the better it is for our health.
A diverse diet is a cornerstone of your gut health, too. Wholefoods, vegetables, legumes and nuts are the base of a healthy diet. In addition, you can eat foods and drinks that are especially rich in healthy bacteria, such as bone broth or kombucha.
Gut microbiota is a complex and dynamic population of microorganisms also referred to as microbiomes.
For example an adult weighing 70 kg has approximately 100 trillion microorganisms in his body, weighing about 200g.
Healthy and diverse gut microbiota is an important factor to our overall health.
Maintaining healthy bacteria in our guts prevents digestive problems and increases our body’s resistance to fight viruses. It teaches the immune system to defend itself against unhealthy bacteria and viruses.
Healthy bacteria plays an important role in our digestive system and reduces discomfort such as bloating. It can also influence our mood and behavior. This area of research is developing very quickly, and in the coming years we’ll learn more about other health benefits as well.
